The three employees behind the counter were busy making lattes and boxing donuts for customers, but as soon as we got in line, one of them paused and looked at us, a creamer-filled carafe in his hands. In short order, my husband, Dennis, and I parked, entered, and joined the line that snaked all the way to the door. The sheer number of people inside Gramps Coffee & Donuts was enough to make us sit up and take notice. Sure, you could keep on going to wherever it was you were going, but why not stop instead and explore for a few minutes, especially when there’s plenty of street parking?
